I have been using Xoom for over 10 years. Recently I started using it more often as I've been traveling abroad and would often need to make transfers to friends as I was having difficulties withdrawing money.
Every time I made a transfer, Xoom would block it and send me an email asking to respond to clear the transfer. The message was very vague with no clear instructions on what was needed to be done, and I never got a response after responding (this happened several times). I then would call customer service, who after a long time would finally tell me to call another department which was often closed considering the time difference and urgency. When I would finally get a hold of the verification department, they'd ask a few questions, then tell me to wait a few days to clear the transfer.
This would happen every single time. Finally, my last transfer was cancelled instead of cleared, and then I received a notification saying my account was closed with no explanation. I responded to the email several times with no response. I also called and no one could explain and share the contact of the department that can help.
They simply closed my account.
I cannot even log in to refer to the records of more than 10 years that I've been using them. This was extremely disrespectful and caused lots of major problems for me while traveling abroad for several months.

Good evening. I'm just concerned with knowing if I'm able to try and send money from your wonderful platform, which gave me great service until a recent transaction was cancelled. The reason wasn't clear to me, and I am afraid to try to send money to my family again because I'm not sure if it will be cancelled again.

Always having problems to collect my money.
Im upset not happy with having to wait a day or 2 be fire being able to collect cash that was already verified.

Customer service put me on hold for over 2 hours and once I decided to hang up and call them back, they just closed.
I was so upset of them not sending the funds that they already received payment for 1 week ago directly from my bank account. I finally asked for their supervisor.
The Xoom customer service said the supervisor will get to me in about 20 min and put me on hold, but it became over 2 hours of being on hold. I waited, because I did not want to talk to another front line Xoom customer service rep that did not know the answer. They said the receiving bank had technical issues and not being able to receive Xoom funds, but just for me to check their statement, I used another remittance company and it went to the same receiving bank within an hour. So the Xoom customer service rep was lying.
Really bad customer service and they just want to hold the money for awhile longer to get more interest on it or maybe they are doing a Ponzi scheme. I will never use them again!!

Verified Reviewer |Fraud/PayPal refuses to refund
Even when xoom finished investigation proving it was not me that transferred money. And filed report with that information, PayPal still refuses refund.
How is that possible? Be very careful!
PayPal- Xoom-Venmo all owned by PayPal. I had Never heard of Xoom and had NO ACCOUNT WITH THEM- and still, PayPal will not refund my money!!!!!
Even when Xoom agrees this was a fraudulent transaction PayPal refuses to refund my money. Never Ever use PayPal to cash a check if someone takes your money it WILL NOT be refunded regardless of proven fraud!

Customer service-unable to aid with payment delays
I sent money 5 times via Xoom without issues. This 6th time was a nightmare.
The app shows that the transfer was sent, but the receivers and her bank say it is not in the account. Apparently the international transfer goes to a business partner for that country and through a messenger service they send the funds to the specific bank you are transferring too. Well, I have been waiting 30 days for a resolution and they only tell me they need to wait for the bank to respond back and they don't reach out again.
They also informed me it could take unto 4 weeks for my money to be refunded " if the bank shows the error with the transfer" I rather go the old school way and not waits months to get my money back. Western union here I come!

About a month ago, I transferred 800eur from my Paypal account via Xoom to a friend, a transaction that was completed successfully by XOOM: https://prnt.sc/rr_36qVYTKBH
unfortunately, my friend was informed by Payoneer that this transaction could not be completed because the money was sent by a private person and Payoneer only accepts money from a company. I talked to the people from Payoneer via Live Chat chat and they assured me that the money was returned to XOOM, here is the proof of the discussion:

After almost 1 month, the money was not returned in to my Paypal account.
Please tell me what is happening with this money because a lot of time has passed, and I want the money to be returned to me URGENTLY.

Blocked account
The bank has no idea why the payment failed. But there were sufficient funds. But Xoom blocked my account for 72 hours and it didn't help at all to tell them that their collection system had a glitch and there was no way Wells Fargo stopped paying.

My transfer of £300 never arrived. When they eventually got around to answering emails they insisted that the transaction had been completed.
This is despite their receipt giving a different bank and reference number that I had provided. I continued to seek an explanation for this but the only replies I got said their investigation had been completed.
I did get refunded after 3 months but I'll never use this company again, and I'd advise others to take a similar approach.
